Patterned Ketubot

Patterned Ketubot

Below you will find my more “patterned” ketubot. These are ones where the couple wanted some less story-telling and slightly more traditional ketubah patterns. With each, I snuck in some personal details of each couple’s story to give it that extra-special Sandy touch ❤️

Each was done in the style of the couple it was designed for. These draw inspiration from Persian frames and rugs, lace fabric, wall moldings, and the beauty of nature - almost all complete with a healthy touch of gold leaf!

Dinah & Michael

It is tremendously meaningful to be a part of any person's wedding - especially in such a big way - but nothing could be more meaningful than taking on this role for my brother's wedding. This ketubah was for my brother, Michael, & my sister-in-law, Dinah, who now have five (!) beautiful children. It was the first I ever made (with help from Michael himself!) A painted Persian border frame inspired the ketubah with a pop of Michael's favorite color of orange and some gold leaf for good measure.

Elizabeth & Matt

Matt has been one of my closest friends since we were just youngins learning about our Jewish roots in Hebrew School. We have shared a lifetime's worth of holidays and celebrations but none as special as his wedding. The style of this ketubah was based on the art deco accents of the apartment where Elizabeth & Matt lived when they married. The text was written by the couple and their Rabbi, giving it a more personal touch. They even asked me to read the English at the wedding under the chuppah (so basically, I married them.)

Jessica & Greg

This watercolor ketubah was inspired by a beautiful tree at The Malibu Cafe where Jessica & Greg got married. It serendipitously includes a gold leaf bride that perfectly matches the gold dress Jessica wore to her wedding, a great compliment to the other figure featuring Greg's full beard.

Brittany & Forrest

With a ketubah in the gray and yellow colors of their original hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Brittany & Forrest were married in their current hometown of Brooklyn, New York. This non-religious ketubah symbolizes their love for their homes and each other as they take the first step in their journey as husband and wife.

Jordan & Eric

Jordan & Eric wrote me such beautiful testimonies of their relationship I had to slip in some quotes from their letters in the ketubah design.

In the spirit of Matisse cut-outs, the love of a dog, and the dream of shade under a lemon tree - I created this ketubah during peak quarantine. My first square ketubah in this series!

Daniellah & Marc

My soul sister, Daniellah, found her forever with Marc when they reconnected during the pandemic. This gold leaf and watercolor ketubah design was inspired by Daniellah’s grandfather’s Persian carpet that this beautiful couple got married standing on. To sneak in a little more personalization, I added Daniellah’s grandparents’ names - in my best take at their handwriting - and Marc’s father’s name, in blessed memory.

Like the last ketubah, this was also a first! My first round ketubah!
